This tapestry was inspired by a place called ‘LakeMungo’. The layering of the earth captures fragments of bone and stone tools from over 40 thousand years of Australian history. As I woven a winged angel and a seated mediating figure became apparent amongst the other fragments. This seemed to reflect modern interest and interpretation of the site. Title: Mungo Time Artist: Cathy Hoffman Size: 53cms x 75cms Material: Tapestry - Wool Date: 2002 Teacher Department of Arts
This is a place for South West Institute of TAFE students and staff to participate in our monthly art collaboration/exhibition. You don’t need to be doing an art course to participate.
We pick a topic, you guys make art. It can be anything; sculpture, photography, illustration, painting, film etc as long as you relate it back to the topic.
Why? A better question is 'why not?' Cuttlefish is great way to exhibit, expose and generate feedback for your work. What better way to improve than to do more?
