June - No excuse month - Andrea Radley

I have been playing with cutouts and texta. After seeing a Miso documentary on the ABC. I like the extra challenge with the positive and negative space and thinking about how to do so it is all connected. These are some fun images to decorate the walls at home for the kids.

Tracey Head - June - No excuse

Artist: Tracey Head
Size: 92 x 61 cm
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas/Photoshop
Date: 8th June 2009
Title: Dragons and Gold
Course: Graphic Design Diploma
This is an Acrylic painting I have done this year while studying the Graphics Diploma and I find the need to continue in my other mediums to keep it alive. Studying these other formats and programs to create have stiffled but enriched my perceptions also. I feel i have done a 360 and now design, position, texture and many other influences have freed my imagination but i was cursing them for a while there. This dragon symbolises air and fortune. The upside down triangle is fire along with the cresent moon - water. I like to incorporate all elements fire, water, earth, air and spirit and i like to work the picture to the point where i feel it comes alive, it may lay flat for weeks until a dream creates the energy of life i look and try to accomplish in my paintings..........

June - No excuse month

Hi everyone,
Thanks to a suggestion from a student, Daniel McKenna, the theme for this month is open. You can put up any work you have created this year. So there are no excuses for not posting. If you have not already posted and are wondering how just ring or email Nathan Pye or Andrea Radley and we are more than happy to help.
Well done Daniel for the great idea. If anybody else has an idea for subsequant months let us know.
Also another exciting development this year is that there will be awards at the end of the year. Posters are being put up around the campuses this week and I will post more information about the awards soon.
More reason to post your work this month.
We look forward to seeing your work and please write a brief statement about the piece to go with the picture.
Get creative!
